The Female Mechanics Calendars are full-sized 14-month wall calendars that include multiple color photographs of each mechanic, along with bios telling their stories of how they got into the non-traditional labor field of mechanics.
Found mostly through word of mouth, the calendars include automobile, motorcycle,
Sarah Lyon, artist, motorcycle mechanic and enthusiast, travelled over 6000 miles alone on her 1978 Yamaha motorcycle during the summer of 2006, photographing women mechanics from around the country for the first Female Mechanics Calendar.
For the second calendar, Sarah set out on her 1977 BMW R100S motorcycle, traveling 12,000 miles to both east and west coasts. The new calendar also includes photo collages of images from the journey.
