In 2003 I set out on my 1978 Yamaha Motorcycle for what would become a 80-day, 9,000 mile backroad solo adventure. Visiting friends to see where they had gone with their lives, I photographed them in their new environments, along with other human encounters throughout the journey. I exhibited the work in an installation that included a 3-wall map drawing, titled “Where Are You Going, Where Have We Been.”
