Description:

For anyone interested in personal empowerment through understanding more about cars, in this workshop you will learn the basics of the combustion engine and how the systems of a car work together. Topics include tools, manuals, maintenance schedules, and finding a good mechanic. Projected images, diagrams, and actual parts and tools are used for reference, with opportunities for questions and participant dialogue throughout. For the hands-on part of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to practice changing a tire using the jack provided with their own car. We’ll go under the hood and talk about checking vital fluids, changing an air filter, and the process and materials needed for an oil change.
