Are you traveling in the desert? Would you like to know how to change a flat tire on the side of the road? In this three hour workshop you learn techniques on how to change a tire, jump start a battery, and how to get your car desert-ready. We talk about how to avoid getting stuck in the sand and tips on how to get yourself out if you do! Using projected images and actual parts and tools, we also discuss the basics of the combustion engine, hybrid and electric cars, and how the various systems of the car work together. Then we go under the hood and talk about checking fluids, important maintenance procedures, and what to keep in a basic tool kit.

For the hands on part, participants then practice changing a tire using the jack and spare provided with their car. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion throughout. A printed outline of topics covered in the presentation is included in the cost of the workshop.
