In this 3-hour workshop you will learn techniques for changing a tire, the basics of the combustion engine, and how the systems of a car work together.  We’ll go under the hood to discuss checking fluids, important maintenance procedures, and what to keep in a basic tool kit.  I’ll share projected images, diagrams, and actual parts and tools for reference, with opportunities for questions and participant dialogue throughout.  

For the hands-on part of the workshop, you will practice changing a tire using the jack and spare provided with your own car — though you are not required to have or bring a car to participate. If you have one, bring your car manual and come prepared to get a little dirty!  This workshop is for anyone interested in personal empowerment through a better understanding of cars.
