Are you traveling in the desert? Would you like to know how to change a flat tire
on the side of the road? In this three hour workshop you will learn techniques on
how to change a tire, jump start a battery, and how to get your car desert-ready.
We’ll talk about how to avoid getting stuck in the sand and tips on how to get
yourself out if you do! Using projected images and actual parts and tools, we will
discuss the basics of the combustion engine and how the various systems of the
car work together. We’ll go under the hood and talk about checking fluids,
important maintenance procedures, and what to keep in a basic tool kit. For the
hands on part of the workshop, participants will practice changing a tire using the
jack and spare provided with their own car. There will be opportunities for
questions and discussion throughout.
This workshop is organized by HDTS and is limited to 15 participants
